The Libertad are one of the strongest clubs in Paraguay, but they have not had much success on the international stage; their best record in the Libertadores Cup was a semi final, and that was only twice in their history: in 1977 and in 2006.
In this tournament, the home field factor gives them a big advantage, although Atletico Mineiro look the favourites in terms of squad and experience.
