The champion is aiming for a bright start. The Munich team has a Super Cup victory over Borussia Dortmund (2:1) and an impressive pre-season, where they scored at least twice in every game. Bayern set a Bundesliga record for goals last season (122) and their powerful attack led by Olise, Diaz and Kane will be their main asset in the upcoming match. With six wins in a row over Stuttgart, including a 3-0 defeat in the Cup final, the hosts look like clear favourites.
The visitors also have trump cards in the form of newcomer Pejcinovic, who scored a hat-trick in the German Cup, and overall performance: their last matches were played with an abundance of goals. However, Stuttgart is approaching the game with personnel problems, and its away form leaves much to be desired - only one win in its last seven away Bundesliga matches. The head-to-head statistics speak for themselves: in the last ten head-to-head matches the total has always been over 2.5, and this streak is unlikely to be interrupted.
We expect Bayern to seize the initiative from the first minutes and quickly achieve a comfortable lead. Stuttgart is capable of responding with a goal of its own, as was the case in the recent match in Munich (4:2), but this will not be enough.
