Oklahoma City leads the series 3-2 after a 127-114 home victory, in which Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 32 points. The series now moves to San Antonio, where the Spurs crushed their opponents 103-82 in Game 4 thanks to 33 points from Wembanyama. Game 6 is effectively an elimination game for the hosts, and they'll be attacking from the start to salvage the series.
Defense hasn't been a strong point for these teams in the current playoffs. In the five games of the series, only one (Game 4) ended with a total of fewer than 213.5 points, and the Spurs imposed a uniquely slow pace. In the remaining games, the teams scored at least 218 points, and in Game 5, they scored 241.
Given the pressure of the outcome and the home crowd, San Antonio will accelerate and look for points through Wembanyama. At the same time, the Thunder are also capable of scoring on the road. Even if teams start to falter on defense, their offensive potential and transition speed should ensure they can overcome that threshold.
