Three of the four games played have seen six or more goals scored, and in the last two games, both teams have scored five goals (4-2 and 5-4). Utah is playing explosive hockey: even trailing 3-0 in Game 4, the Mammoths found the strength to tie the game, demonstrating their excellent depth—every line is scoring. Vegas isn't going to sit back on defense, preferring an aggressive style of play, which, combined with their signature swings, leads to plenty of scoring chances at both ends.
The goalies, despite their status, aren't yet an insurmountable barrier. Carter Hart (Vegas) and Karel Vejmelka (Utah) are averaging more than three goals per game in this series. Furthermore, injuries on Vegas' defense are taking their toll, giving Utah's forwards (Keller, Schmaltz) ample opportunities to capitalize on their chances. Both teams are currently playing with a "win at all costs" mentality, but their style of play favors open hockey and goal-scoring rather than a shutout.
Considering that the teams have already exceeded this total three times in a row, and the fifth game of the series is usually played with maximum freedom until the first mistake, we expect at least 5-6 goals. Both teams' defenses are tired, and penalties and counterattacks should yield results.
