Hardly anyone expected Romania to come out of their group from the first place, but Group E turned out to be rich in sensations - all 4 national teams got 4 points each and everything was decided by goal statistics and head-to-head meetings. Romania defeated Ukraine 3-0, although the score was due to several goalkeeper errors, then there was a logical defeat to Belgium 2-0, and in the match with Slovakia both teams needed a draw, which happened.
The Netherlands had the most difficult group in the tournament, from which the national team managed to get out of, taking only 3rd place. But thanks to this the Netherlands got perhaps a less dangerous opponent in 1/8. The national team showed character in the game with Poland, losing in the course of the match, then could well beat France, but in the game with Austria the Netherlands played terribly in defence.
Of course, sensations happen at Euro 2024, but still we don't expect it today. The Netherlands have made too many mistakes in defence, which is clearly not expected from them, as the pair of central defenders - Van Dijk and De Vrey. We believe that the Netherlands will not let this happen again.
