Canada have a very good squad for the World Cup, with almost every player (except one) coming from the NHL and a mixture of young talent and experienced players who have been in the NHL for a long time. Naturally, with such a roster, the Canadians look obvious favourites to win the tournament.
Slovakia doesn't have any big stars, with nearly all of their players playing in either the Czech Republic's championships or the AHL. And the level of the national team in recent years has dropped drastically; now it's hard for Slovakia to play even against such rivals as Latvia or Austria.
